NAAN BREAD; WARM FRESH HOMEMADE BREAD

السلام عليكم
Peace be upon you

Hi! How are you? How's your weekend? I hope everything went well. I'm craving for warm fresh homemade bread, any kind of bread will do. So I made Naan bread yesterday afternoon and dip with hummus and garlic oil.

Ingredients

4 cups wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp bread softener
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup warm water
1 packet mauripan - 11gm (dry yeast)
3/4 cup warm milk
1 cup plain yogurt
1 tsp salt

Method

Dissolve sugar in the warm water and add in yeast, stir till the yeast is dissolved. Covered and let sit for 5-10 minutes or till the mixture begins to froth and rise.

In a large bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and bread softener. Add yogurt and yeast mixture into the warm milk and mix them well. Pour them into the middle of dry ingredients and mixing with a wooden spatula. When the dough is about to come together, use your hand to finish mixing. Start to kneading and add lil bit flour if the dough still sticky. Knead till the dough is soft and not stick to your fingers. Cover the mixing bowl with damp towel or plastic wrap and let sit in a warm place for an hour.

When it already double sizes, divide the dough into balls (depend on you; on the balls size). Sprinkle flour on cutting board, using a rolling pin, roll each piece of dough into round shape. It should be about 1 cm thick and it is depend on you how thick you want it be. Repeat this method with the rest of the dough.

Heat skillet or non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Place naan on the hot skillet, cover with a lid and bake for 1 minute (at this time you can see bubbles starting to form then flip to another side) for both sides. If you would like to add cheese, once flipped to another side, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top of naan and cook till the cheese melt.

If you love to have your naan with garlic, you may brush garlic butter on top of naan while still hot / warm.

You can have it with humus / dhal / curry or mint dipping sauce.

Tersangat lah happynya bila dapat warm fresh homemade bread ni. Sila lah mencuba, you all takkan rugi :)

Love,

Honey
