Peace be upon you
I made mantou for this morning breakfast. I kneaded the dough last night and steamed it this morning before I left for work. It is so good to have fresh homemade bread for breakfast by the way :)

Ingredients
3 cups pau flour
5 tbsp sugar (I just add about 3 - 3 1/2 tbsp sugar)
1 1/2 tsp yeast
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda (Add on)
1 tsp bread softener (Add on)
A pinch of salt (Mine ; 1/2 tsp)
1 1/3 cups of milk (Mine ; 1 cup)
1/3 cup of warm water
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp black sesame seeds
Method
Dissolved sugar in warm water and add in yeast and let it proof. The mixture will froth and look like beer bubbles.
Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix them well. Pour in yeast mixture, oil and milk into the bowl and mix until a dough forms and you can start kneading. Knead till smooth and not stick on your fingers.
Let it sit for an hour (covered) to proof. Punch down dough and knead for a minute. Devide dough about 50gm each. Make it round and place on the muffin liners. Let it sit for 20 minutes to proof until double sizes.
Make sure the steamer hot enough and steam over high heat for 12-15 minutes. Serve hot with chicken curry :)

DeleteSyok tengok orang pandai masak ni..Kak pernah cuba buat roti tapi tak jadi. Sampai donut yang senang tu pun tak jadi. Kawan kak cakap dia buat donut tenyeh dengan kaki pun jadi..Sampai macam tu lah bandingan untuk kakak...hehee..
ReplyDeleteAlah Kak Mala, masak untuk sendiri makan aje. Lah.. dia perli kakak ke apa? Adoi kecik hati kan orang cakap macam tu ke kita. Bukan kata nak ajak buat sama jauh sekali nak ajar. Takpe kakak boleh cuba ikut recipe ni :) Simple aje.... Boleh buat minum petang jugak tapi kena lah ada penyicah nya like kari ke, sambal ke sebab dalamnya kosong. Tapi kalau di makan macam tu pun sedap sebab manis.

ReplyDeleteGeram nya tgk gebu2 ni...nk cuba nanti...breakfast smlm ada buat oat pan cake tp x segebu u punya..sebab tak sempat nk kepok adunan betul2...kne time cuti lah..:D
