السلام عليك
Peace be upon you
Amacam? Dah try kah pizza boat haritu? Hari ni nak share recipe doughnut gebu yang mulus :)
Hari ahad try buat doughnut buat pertama kalinya tapi kurang menjadi. Doughnutnya agak mampat dan tak berapa nak gebu. Jadi semalam sempena cuti Hari Malaysia, I cuba buat doughnut lagi menggunakan recipe lain. Alahmdulillah gebu habis! Cair bila di kunyah (tipu sangat lah tu ye?) Ibaratnya lah tu.. hihi
Doughnut Balls
Ingredients
225g plain flour
2 tbsp yeast
4 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp salt
150ml warm milk
50gm melted butter
1 egg (beaten)
Vegetable oil for frying
Method
Mix the yeast with half a teaspoon of the sugar and
two tablespoons of the warm milk. Let it sit for 10
minutes, or until frothy.
Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl. Stir in one tablespoon of the sugar.
Pour in the yeast mix, the rest of the
milk, the melted butter and the egg into the flour. Mix to make a dough and then knead for 5-8 minutes,
cover the bowl and leave to stand for 45 minutes, or until the dough
has doubled in size.
Punch the dough and return to the work surface, knead the dough for five minutes, then divide
into 12 balls and place in a warm place for 30 minutes and covered, or until they
have doubled in size.
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed sauce pan over medium heat. Once hot enough, turn the heat to low. Gently lower the dough balls one at a time into the hot oil, in batches
of two or three, and fry for 3-5 minutes or until golden-brown, and then
carefully turn over. Remove from the hot oil with a slotted spoon and
drain on kitchen paper.
Make a small hole inside the
doughnut with the chopstick, and fill with the lemon custard (using the piping bag). Roll the warm doughnuts in the remaining sugar. Serve warm.
Lemon Custard Filling
Ingredients
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
2 egg yolks
3/4 cup of water
1/3 cup lemon juice
2 tbsp butter
Method
In a medium suace pan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Beat egg yolks and water together, then whisk into sugar mixture.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and butter. Mix them well and cover with plastic wrap until completely cooled. Then you can pipe into the doughnut balls.
Tersangat lah gebu doughnut ni.. Melting in your mouth! I found that doughnut and lemon custard such a good combination indeed. You may try it and am sure that you will love it! You can reduce amount of lemon juice.
Love,
Honey
